Affiliate Disclosure

Many links on THEHARSHITA (theharshita.com) are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission from the seller. It costs you nothing extra, and it never decides what I recommend.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a special web address that tells a seller you came from my site. If you then make a purchase, the seller may pay me a commission. The price you pay stays the same. Sometimes the seller may even offer a lower price through the link, but I cannot promise that.

Why I use them

Researching, testing and writing honest guides takes time. Commissions help me keep this site running and keep my guides free for you to read. They are how this site earns money.

How they affect my recommendations

A commission does not decide what I recommend. My guides follow the process described on my How I Recommend Products page:

  • I start with your need, not with the commission.
  • I compare products side by side and show the downsides.
  • I tell you whether I tested a product myself or researched it.
  • I never claim a test that did not happen.
  • I may mention a good product that pays me nothing, and I will not recommend a product I would not suggest to a customer face to face, even if it pays more.

How I show you where links are

  • A short disclosure appears at the top of every page or post that contains affiliate links.
  • Where it helps, I add a note near the link or button, such as “affiliate link”.
  • On social media, videos and emails, I add a clear note such as “#affiliate” or “affiliate links” in the caption, on screen or in the text, and say it out loud in videos.
  • This page explains everything in full, and it is linked in the footer of every page.

Affiliate programs I take part in

I am currently a member of the following programs: Amazon Associates (India, US, Canada), meesho, and Cuelinks. I will update this list as it changes.

  • Amazon. “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases from Amazon Associate India, Amazon Associate US and Amazon Associate Canada.”
  • Meesho & Cuelinks. “Participate in the Meesho and Cuelinks affiliate marketing programs. This means I may earn a small commission or fee when you click or buy products through my referral links.”
  • Sponsored, gifted or collaborative content. If a brand pays me, gives me a product or has another material connection with me, I will say so clearly, near the start of the relevant content. I follow the disclosure rules that apply to my audience, including Indian advertising and consumer-protection rules and ASCI guidelines, and, for international readers, rules such as those of the US FTC and the UK ASA.

    • Prices, offers, features and availability are set by the seller and change often. Please check the seller’s page before you buy.
    • When you click a link, you deal directly with the seller. Orders, payments, delivery, warranty, returns and refunds are between you and the seller. See my Terms and Conditions.
    • I am not the seller of any product on this site and cannot change, cancel or refund your order.

    Cookies and tracking

    Affiliate programs use cookies or similar technology to record that you came from my site. Where the law requires it, these are used only after you agree in my cookie banner. You can read more in the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

    The rules I follow

    I aim to follow the disclosure rules that apply to my readers, including Indian consumer-protection and advertising rules and ASCI guidelines on influencer and affiliate disclosures, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) endorsement guidelines, and the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) rules, as well as the terms of each affiliate program.

    You are never required to use my links

    Using my links is a way to support this site at no cost to you, but it is entirely your choice. You can always go directly to a seller’s website if you prefer.
